Referrals
A referral always starts with a consultation with us. The health problem is assessed and physical examination is performed. We will ask for information about previous examinations and treatments, and if necessary a referral will be made.
If you are referred to a hospital ward you will receive a message to your e-boks (or a letter if you do not have access/have unsubscribed from e-boks).
If you are referred to a private specialist you must book the appointment yourself. The referral applies to all specialists in Denmark. You can find specialists and their waiting times at sundhed.dk → find a therapist.
Health insurance group 1
Treatments by private specialists with an agreement with the health insurance are free for patients in health insurance group 1.
Health insurance group 2
Hospital treatments are free, but specialists and general practitioners will charge a fee for patients in group 2.
Patients without health insurance
Treatment of all types is considered private and must be paid for by the patient.
